NP Entreprenurship First Steps
I attended Ngee Ann Polytechnic's course Entrepreneurship First Step's which provided me with insightful knowledge about business specifically entrepreneurship and marketing. I learnt about the basics of entrepreneurship, how to develop and come up with a good business idea and even how to grow a business. I was also introduced to marketing which I found particularly interesting. The knowledge that I gained about entrepreneurship from this course that was practical, applicable and realistic. I was even given the chance to apply what I had learnt by crafting my very own business idea, which is shown below. This was a valuable experience which allowed me to deepen my understanding of business and entrepreneurship and ready me to learn more in the future.
Work experience programme
For my school's Work Experience Programme I choose to visit the Bank of Singapore. During my visit I was able to expand my business knowledge and learn more about finance, accountancy and investing. I also had the chance to speak to the different employees from different departments to learn more about what it is like to work in a bank. This was an enjoyable and insightful experience as I was exposed to what it is like to work in the world of business.
ICDL Spreadsheets Course
I also joined the ICDL Spreadsheets module and earned certification for it. The Spreadsheets module covered the main concepts and skills needed to use Excel, such as tasks associated with developing, formatting, modifying, and using a spreadsheet. Some of the few example of the skills that I had learnt were how to edit cells, arithmetic functions, formatting content and how to create and edit charts.
