Giving back to the community

Media Club
My CCA, Media Club, is a service CCA. I personally am part of the advanced photography section. We serve the school by taking photos of school events such as the Student Leaders Investiture and the Teacher's Day celebration. We are also responsible for the school's AV systems. Before and during morning assembly, we have to make sure the projector, screen, school PA system, and all the mics work and are running smoothly.

Bread Run
My father and I joined the Bread Run Programme organised by Food From the Heart. After serving its commercial time on the shelves, excess bread is collected. We then pick up the bread and drop it off at the bread distribution points. The programme aims to feed the needy with safe-for-consumption bread that would otherwise have been thrown away. It strives to achieve an equilibrium between food surplus in the retail sector and where it is needed within the community.

Project Rainbow
My class decided to take part in a housing-lite project called Project Rainbow, organised by the Loving Heart Multi Service Centre. We worked for two days cleaning, painting, organising, and moving the furniture of the elderly lady we were assigned to. I also helped to paint the gates of two other senior citizens. Our aim was to create a fresh, clean, and uplifting environment for an isolated senior who urgently required assistance in rejuvenating her living space.
